Born 1931 as Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von Gerber in Chicago, American actress, singer, and dancer Mitzi Gaynor is best known for her roles in 1950s and 1960s musicals. She gained widespread fame for her starring performance in South Pacific (1958), and also appeared in films like The I Don’t Care Girl (1953) and There’s No Business Like Show Business (1954).
Known for her vibrant personality and remarkable dancing skills, Gaynor became a popular star of Hollywood’s Golden Age. She also had a successful television career and has remained a beloved figure in entertainment. She died in 2024 in Los Angeles at the age of 93.
